Imagine it's 2011, you've got 'Party Rock Anthem' by LMFAO perpetually stuck in your head, Obama is still in office and Beyoncé has just announced she's pregnant.
It's a simpler time.
Certainly, things were very different back then for Hailey Baldwin, daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin. She was just 15 years old, and like many teens, spent much of her time furiously tweeting at and about Justin Bieber.
Unlike many teens, however, Hailey would go on to get engaged to the pop sensation. He popped the question in a surprise Barbados proposal earlier this week and she happily said 'yes'.

But back when Hailey was a younger, die-hard Belieber, she even shipped her future fiancée's then-relationship with Selena Gomez.

"OMG! I need Bieber wrapping paper ASAP," Hailey wrote in December 2011. Unaware of what was to come; Hailey was simply expressing a Christmas plight many of her peers could relate to.
Whether or not she got her wrapping paper, we just don't know. What we do know, is that she ended up with Bieber's arms literally wrapped around her, which presumably is a much better result.
"omg you finally got some," one fan replied to the old tweet this week, with a picture of the pair entangled in an embrace.
Earlier in 2011, like a true fangirl, Hailey had congratulated Justin on the success of his Christmas-themed single.
"@justinbieber #MISTLETOE is #1 on ITunes! Congrats!!!! :)" she wrote.
Despite her adoration for the 'Baby' singer, Hailey wasn't jealous - yet. She frequently tweeted her admiration for 'Jelena', the pop power couple that was Justin and his first love, Selena.
Pop culture Instagram account The Cut dug up a tweet from Hailey in September of 2011 that read: "I don't care what anyone says but Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez together is the definition of a teenage dream!"
By the time 2012 rolled around, the aspiring model was even emotionally invested in the couple's clothing choices.
"I gotta say I was really looking forward to seeing what color coordination Jelena was gonna do for this year's VF party..." she wrote.
Say what you will about Hailey's unabashed worship of the Beebs, but the girl had goals. Relationship goals, even.
"She is beyond flawless and he's, you know - he's Bieber," she tweeted about Justin and Selena.
"They are the perfect relationship...forever alone."
Now, six years on from Hailey's proclamation that she'd never find love, Jelena is over, Hailey's got a massive rock on her ring finger and Justin is the one gushing on social media.
"Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! So committed to spending my life getting to know every single part of you, loving you patiently and kindly," the 'Sorry' hitmaker wrote.
So next time you're pining over your latest global superstar crush, perhaps take a leaf from Hailey's book. Try tweeting: "Hey (insert famous person's name here) waddup doeee?" Just like Hailey did to Justin once upon a time.
