Stan Walker is back. A year after surviving stomach cancer the singer and entertainer is ready to get back on stage. But before he gets on stage he sat down with The AM Show to share some exciting news.

"It's been like five years since I toured New Zealand and postponed two tours," he says.
"I had a break, then I was supposed to go on tour , then my mum got sick, and then we were getting ready to do another tour and I got sick and I was like 'aw jeez'."
Walker and his mother got cancer eight months apart. The recovery was difficult, including an operation to remove his cancerous stomach.
"There was a few moments I almost died, and I could have died," he says.
"In the beginning, I couldn't sing, I couldn't even hold a note longer than three seconds... I thought I was done. And I was like 'oh my gosh, I'm going to have to be really funny or real awesome at something else'."
But Walker says it had a positive effect - it lead him to take care of his health and follow his dreams.
"To be honest, it's been one of the most incredible things to happen to me," he says.
"It really just changed my whole life for the better."
And fans going to his future concerts can expect a fantastic vocal performance.
"To be honest, my voice is probably stronger and better than it was before," he says.
"It took me a while to get used to it, because it's like operating a new machine. I have to sing a little bit different. But I can do things I couldn't do before.
"There's bits of my voice I miss, I miss the girth, the thickness. I think maybe it's because I was thicker, had a bigger neck."
