Flight of the Conchords have been mocked by another musical comedy duo - and now fans want to see the two collaborate.
Tenacious D, best known for their 2002 track 'Tribute', posted a video to their official Twitter page showing band members Jack Black and Kyle Gass on a street in Hollywood.
Guitars at the ready, the two musicians are seen standing underneath a billboard for their new animated series Post-Apocalypto.
"We're the greatest folk metal acoustic comedy rock duo of all time!" Black says, a reference to Flight of the Conchords' self-appointed status as "New Zealand's fourth most popular folk parody duo".
After announcing that the newest episode of Post-Apocalypto is now on YouTube, Black and Gass rip into some intense guitar shredding.

The camera then pans to across the street and zooms in on a billboard advertising Flight of the Conchords' new live special on HBO.
The cheeky reference didn't go unnoticed by the Conchords' Jemaine Clement, who retweeted the video with a retort of his own.
"Don't rock our billboard down with your power chords!" he wrote.
The interaction has sparked a desire for a collaboration among fans of both bands.
"Can you imagine the amazing tour Flight of the Conchords and Tenacious D would put on?" one Twitter user wrote.
"Collab now," another commanded.
The two groups have come close to a collaboration before. Flight of the Conchords performed at Festival Supreme 2016, the annual music and comedy festival curated by Black and Gass.
