Kanye West's meeting with US President Donald Trump generated news headlines around the world and triggered a slew of passionate responses on social media.
In front of a large media pack, the 'Gold Digger' rapper told the former Celebrity Apprentice host he's a "father figure" for him and that wearing a Make America Great Again hat made him feel "like Superman".

While fans of Kanye and Trump praised the meeting, many commentators hit out what they perceived as a distraction from more important matters.
Kanye, husband of reality TV star Kim Kardashian, faced some particularly harsh criticism and mockery over the meeting.
Rapper T.I. had one of the most intense reactions, unleashing on Kanye in a lengthy Instagram post.
"The most repulsive, disgraceful, embarrassing act of desperation & auctioning off of one's soul to gain power I've ever seen," raged the 'Whatever You Like' hitmaker.
"This shit is next level, futuristic Sambo, Hopping Bob, Stephen off Django [Unchained] ass shit... [Kanye is] ass kissing and boot licking on a whole new level.
"If you listen closely you can hear the tears of our ancestors hit the floor... I've reached my limits. This is my stop, I'm officially done."
Right-wing commentators including Sean Hannity, Mike Cernovich and Candace Owens have praised the meeting.
CNN's Don Lemon was slammed by Trump/Kanye fans for calling the rapper a "minstrel" and suggesting his mother would be "rolling in her grave".
