"Christmas is coming," he captioned the photo with 7-year-old Harper.
"Let's go skate."
Some of Beckham's 52.2 million followers appeared to take issue with the father-daughter selfie, labelling it "inappropriate".
"I don't care what anyone says if a dad kisses a child on the lips it's completely wrong," one commenter wrote.
"Not on lips. Cheeks is OK," said another.
Other users who caught wind of the backlash soon rallied around the former footballer, calling critics "sick" for attacking the snap.
"Anyone who thinks David Beckham is disgusting for pecking his 7 year old daughter on the lips would benefit from a long course of therapy," one fan wrote.
"The people who are turning this sweet picture into something sinister worry me," said another.
It's not the first time the famous parents have come under fire for showing affection to their children. Last year, Victoria Beckham was called "disgusting" for kissing Harper on her birthday.
David was also slammed as "creepy" for a photo with Harper captioned "kiss for daddy".
In a 2017 Facebook Live, David defended the Beckham's parenting style.
"I kiss all my kids on the lips," he told fans.
"Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn's 18, he might find that a little bit strange.
"But I'm very affectionate with the kids. It's how I was brought up and Victoria, and it's how we are with our children."
David and Victoria Beckham have four children, and have been married since 1999.
