Miley Cyrus 'completely devastated' as home burns down in California wildfires

Miley Cyrus has announced she has lost her home in the California wildfires, taking to social media to urge fans to donate money, time and supplies to help the fire-fighting efforts.

The 'Wrecking Ball' singer is one of 250,000 people who have been forced to flee from the raging fires that have left at least 31 dead and 228 missing.

"Completely devastated by the fires affecting my community," Cyrus wrote on her Instagram story.

"I am one of the lucky ones."

Cyrus confirmed that her partner, actor Liam Hemsworth, and the couples' pets all escaped unharmed from her rainbow-painted Malibu home before it was consumed by the flames.

"My animals and LOVE OF MY LIFE made it out safely and that's all that matters right now," she said.

"My house no longer stands but the memories shared with family and friends stand strong. I am grateful for all I have left."

Earlier this year, Cyrus deleted all of her Instagram posts, but she appears to have return to the social media platform in order to appeal to her 75.6 million followers.

"Sending so much love and gratitude to the firefighters and the LA County Sherriff's department," she said.

"If you are interested in getting involved…donate $, time, supplies."

Other public figures who have announced that their homes are gone include actor Gerard Butler and music legend Neil Young.
