Kiwi comedian Rose Matafeo has taken to Instagram to share the moment she met Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after the Royal Variety Performance.
- In stitches with Rose Matafeo and Alice Snedden at Edinburgh Fringe 2018
- No more opening presents for Meghan Markle on Christmas
"Lol who's that girl with the massive hair," she captioned the short clip, in which she was greeted warmly by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Matafeo, who recently took out 'Best Show' at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performed alongside George Ezra, Take That and Andrea Bocelli at the illustrious event earlier this month.
While it's hard to make out the conversation between the Funny Girls star and the royals, Meghan seems to say "Wow, congratulations," as she shakes Matafeo's hand.
The 26-year-old then appears to make a tongue-in-cheek apology of sorts, prompting Harry to reply: "Nothing to apologise for, I feel sorry for your family!"
Friends and followers shared their excitement about Matafeo's royal encounter in the comments section.
"This is literally amazing!!" one person wrote.
"Did you tell them we watched the wedding wearing tiaras and eating cupcakes with their faces on?"
Matafeo is currently based in London, where she has been co-writing this year's Basement Theatre Christmas Show, Work Do, with friend and fellow comedian Alice Snedden.
