Comedian Urzila Carlson will have her own 30-minute comedy special released on Netflix on New Year's Day, as part of a new series, Comedians Of The World.

Born in South Africa, now based in Auckland, Carlson has long been loved by Kiwi audiences for her stand-up comedy and regular appearances as a 7 Days panelist.
Carlson is one of 47 different comedians from around the world who will star in their own episode of Comedians Of The World. The Netflix comedy event series will be taped in eight different languages and feature comedians "diverse in style, gender and ethnicity".
Also representing New Zealand on the world stage will be Christchurch-born Cal Wilson, who now lives in Australia where she's carved out a successful comedy career. She often appears on 7 Days when in New Zealand.
All of the episodes are set to be released in one go on New Year's Day "so you'll have something to do while nursing your hangover," Carlson remarked on Twitter.
