Elton John says he hasn't heard anyone sing his songs better than the man portraying him in upcoming biopic Rocketman.
Kingsman star Taron Egerton plays the 'Your Song' hitmaker in the film and performs much of his singing for real.

New footage released by Paramount Pictures to promote Rocketman showcases Egerton's vocal efforts and gives a glimpse at the film's production.
"Elton said, 'I don't think I have heard anyone sing my songs better than Taron'," the film's music producer Giles Martin says in the clip.
"And the great thing about Elton is he wants Taron's interpretations of his songs."
Egerton took on the role after Tom Hardy pulled out, reportedly as the Dark Knight Rises star struggled with singing himself.
He's already being compared to Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody.
"Elton's songs are the defining moments in people's lives," adds Egerton in the clip. "It's been the greatest joy of my professional life, making this film."
Rocketman is promised to follow the "fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John".
It's set to open in New Zealand cinemas on May 30.
Meanwhile, tickets to John's most recently announced Aotearoa concert go on sale on Thursday.
