According to Uproxx, the 'Bodak Yellow' rapper hit back at her critics who claimed she didn't deserve her fortune, prompting some shocking confessions about her past.
"The shit that I did to motherf**king survive... like I had to go strip," she said during an Instagram Live video.
"I had to go: 'oh yeah, you wanna f**k me? Yea, yea, yea, let's go to this hotel.'
"And I drugged n****rs up and I robbed them. That's what I used to do. Nothing was mother**king handed to me, nothing!"
The backlash from fans came swiftly, with some Twitter users using the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB, a reference to the documentary that detailed R&B singer R Kelly's long history of sexual abuse allegations.
"Cardi B admitted to drugging, raping and robbing men but people are defending her either because she's a woman, they're using childhood trauma as an excuse," one user wrote.
"ARREST HER."
"I grew up poor and in the hood. I never robbed or raped or drugged a man. Stop using the hood as an excuse," another said.
The 26-year-old Grammy winner has since taken to Twitter herself, doubling down on her actions.
"I never claim to be an angel, I always been a street bitch," she wrote.
"Ya be glorifying this street rappers that talk and do that grimmey street shit but they can't stand a street bitch! [sic]"
"I'm still going to be here," she added.
Last week, it was announced Cardi B would be making her silver screen debut alongside Jennifer Lopez in the upcoming film Hustlers, where she plays a member of a group of strippers who team up to scam their Wall Street clients.
