Married At First Sight Australia partner swap: Sam publicly rejects Ines after their affair is exposed

Married At First Sight Australia groom Sam Ball shocked audiences and his fellow participants alike when he revealed he regretted his affair with Ines Basic during a commitment ceremony.

After weeks of private messages and secret meet-ups, Sam admitted during Sunday night's episode that he and Ines had been an item behind their respective partner's backs.

He went on to reveal that Ines had been interested in starting a serious relationship, but that he didn't feel the same way, leaving her reeling.

"She was coming on very strong, very fast. She wants me to commit to her long term... I'm not sure about Ines and I outside the experiment," he said as the group watched on.

"After the dinner party I got all these messages basically saying she wants to leave the experiment... [Saying she] hasn't wanted to be with someone so badly in her life.

"I've got her just clinging, wanting to do everything... I think Ines has fallen for me and I'm not sure if I've fallen for Ines."

"If I had my time over I wouldn't have accepted the message from Ines and met up with Ines," he continued.

"I do regret it."

The revelation left Ines clearly shocked, shaking her head and laughing nervously, which prompted a fiery reaction from fellow bride Cyrell Paule.

"You've just ruined a f**king marriage and you're sitting there f**king smiling," she screamed, before Ines stormed out of the ceremony.

Left to pick up the pieces of his marriage was Ines' husband, Bronson Norrish, who later opened up to 9HONEY about the betrayal.

"On the couch when Ines and Sam sort of laid it out that they were cheating behind our backs, that was bad," says Bronson.

"I believe the best in people. But it wasn't actually until that night with the experts when it came to fruition that I was like, 'Oh, shite, that's not just a rumour, it's true.'

"Two people I thought would tell the truth were actually lying."

Bronson added that his wife made him "feel like a piece of crap" from the moment they met at the altar. He clarified that they had never consummated their marriage, despite her comments online.

"No, I would never sleep with someone like that. Posting comments saying we slept together on the honeymoon and like having 'dirty sex' or referring to me as inbred is absolutely atrocious."
