Tekashi 6ix9ine parody video 'I'm a rat' uses R Kelly beat

Troubled rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is being mocked in an online video that uses an R Kelly instrumental and is amassing tens of thousands of views.

The 'Gummo' rapper is depicted by a man in orange prison clothing with a rat mask and a rainbow-coloured wig in the video, which was uploaded by comedian BeDa.

Using the best from R Kelly's 'I'm a Flirt', the parody song is entitled 'I'm a rat'.

"I'm telling them everything, 'cause I'm a rat... when it come to snitching, I'm doing what I'm supposed to," are some of the parody song's lyrics.

"As soon as I get to that interrogation, man, I gotta tell 'em. A snitch gonna snitch on everybody involved.

"Believe me man, this not how them playas do it in NY - but I don't think I could do 47 years inside."

Tekashi 6ix9ine - sometimes written as Tekashi69 - was arrested in November 2018 as part of a crackdown on the Nine Trey Bloods, a New York gang accused of multiple shootings and drug dealing.

After previous brushes with the law, including pleading guilty to a child sex offence, the rapper - real name Daniel Hernandez - chose to cooperate with prosecutors in a plea deal on the new charges in order to avoid decades behind bars.

This act of "snitching" has been sharply criticised from rappers including 50 Cent, Meek Mill, Boosie Badazz and Uncle Murda.

BeDa's use of an R Kelly track to ridicule Tekashi 6ix9ine has been noted by commenters on Instagram and YouTube - both men have been accused of crimes involving the videotaping of underage girls engaging in sex acts.
