Prince Harry has stated publicly that Fortnite should be banned, claiming it has no benefit and its purpose is to "create addiction".
The beloved battle royale shooter is one of the most popular games of modern times, bringing joy to hundreds of millions of people and earning over US$2.4 billion in 2018 alone.

But the Duke of Sussex condemned it while speaking at a South Ealing YMCA in London on Wednesday (local time).
"That game shouldn't be allowed. Where is the benefit of having it in your household?" asked Harry, according to the BBC.
"It's created to addict, an addiction to keep you in front of a computer for as long as possible. It's so irresponsible.
"It's like waiting for the damage to be done and kids turning up on your doorsteps and families being broken down."
Harry didn't cite any sources for his claims.
After being released in 2017, Fortnite is fast approaching the phenomenal milestone of 250 million registered players worldwide.
At a recent industry event, the boss of the company that produced Fortnite cited its social elements as a reason for its success.
"It's the first shooter with a huge female population," Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney told Engadget.
"Somebody estimated it at roughly 35 percent, which is unprecedented - why isn't it 50? - but it's unprecedented for anything like this. It's because it brings together players in a social experience."
Obviously, Prince Harry isn't a fan of Fortnite. But he also took aim at social media while speaking at the YMCA, despite having only joined Instagram himself just a few days earlier.
"Social media is more addictive than drugs and alcohol, yet it's more dangerous because it's normalised and there are no restrictions to it," the 34-year-old reportedly said.
Epic Games, which is worth an estimated US$15 billion, has not publicly commented on Harry's claims.
