A summer concert series with a headliner for almost every taste has been announced for summer 2020.

Billy Idol, George Thorogood and the Destroyers, Anastacia, Creedence Clearwater Revisited and Smash Mouth will play joint gigs in Queenstown, Taupo and Whitianga.

Dean Calvet, a spokesperson for promotor Greenstone Entertainment, told Newshub this lineup is massive for New Zealanders.

"They'd all be a headliner in their own right in any other gig that they were at."

Calvet pointed out everyone will know a song in this line-up, and Smash Mouth lead the way.

"Smashmouth are probably famous for all of the songs that are on the movie Shrek: 'All Star', 'Walking on the Sun', 'I'm a Believer'."

The acts will perform at Gibbston Valley Winery on January 18, Taupo on January 25 and Whitianga on January 26.

The first tickets go on sale on Wednesday, and locals in Gibbston Valley, Taupo and Whitianga will have a chance to get exclusive tickets.
