"Dream come true to work with Ryan Gosnolds for the first time ever!" the Kiwi director captioned the group snap.
Waititi and Reynolds were flanked by Jodie Comer from Killing Eve, Stranger Things' Joe Keery, Pitch Perfect star Utkarsh Ambudkar and director Shawn Levy.
According to Collider, Free Guy sees Reynolds play a lonely bank teller who learns he's actually a background character in a video game.
Thor: Ragnarok director Waititi will step out from behind the camera for the film, joining Reynolds in the ensemble cast.
Meanwhile, the Kiwi filmmaker has announced the release date of his latest project, Jo Jo Rabbit, with a poster that proclaims the film will be an 'anti-hate satire'.
Waititi plays a "weird version" of Adolf Hitler in the movie, who appears as an imaginary friend to a young boy living in Nazi Germany.
"What better way to insult Hitler than having him portrayed by a Polynesian Jew?" Waititi wrote on Instagram last year.
