Dancing With The Stars NZ: Clinton Randell claims his first perfect 30 in grand final

Dancing With The Stars NZ finalist Clinton Randell has finally won his first perfect score during the show's grand final.

Randell is one of four contestants battling it out for the glitterball trophy, alongside William Waiirua, Laura Daniel and Manu Vatuvei.

In a move almost as bold as his leopard-print pants, Randell chose to reprise The Edge's host chose to reprise his first-ever performance - the fast-paced quickstep - as his Couple's Choice dance in the final.

When he first performed in week 1, the dance earned him 7, 8, 8, drawing praise from the judges and starting off strong on the leaderboard.

The risky move paid off, with the judges singing praise.

"That takes a lot of guts mate. It was perfect!" Julz cried from the judges' table.

Rachel proclaimed his top line and frame was "flawless", while Camilla suggested he could be "quickstepping away with the trophy after that."

"For me it was an absolute showstopper."

The choice to redo his first-ever dance was a gamble that paid off, winning Randell his first perfect 30.

If he makes it through to the bottom two, Randell and partner Brittany will perform a showdance before the final winner is declared.

The Dancing With The Stars NZ grand final airs on Three from 7pm.
