Kiwi pop prodigy Lorde has hinted at a third album in a rare post to Instagram.
The 22-year-old singer, who grew up in the Auckland suburb of Devonport, posted a message to her 6.3 million Instagram followers on Sunday (local time) in recognition of the two-year anniversary of her album Melodrama.

"Want to say thankyou for how you took that record and made it your own," Lorde wrote to her fans.
"Feels like I've grown a lot since then, I've been to Antarctica, I have a dog now and a cat and I can bake bread and cook dinner and keep plants alive etc.
"It's a good life you've given me. Thankyou thankyou. Third one in the oven."
The 'Royals' singer has not released any new music since 2017.
Melodrama received a Grammy Award nomination for Album of the Year and garnered critical acclaim, with NME describing the project as a "rudely excellent album".
A number of fans have taken to Twitter following Lorde's hint of a third record, expressing their anticipation for the project.
"Lorde is working on a new album. This is the highlight of my year," said one user.
"Discovering that my lorde and savior is working on a new album... right in the nick of time ... I need her wisdom and guidance now more than ever," said another.
Lorde teased the idea of new music last November after writing in a newsletter to her fans that she was learning piano and brainstorming ideas.
"I haven't started properly on the next record yet, and I'm not sure how long it'll be," Consequence of Sound reported in November.
