Warriors star Manu Vatuvei choreographs final dramatic dance on Dancing With The Stars NZ

Former Warriors star Manu Vatuvei has been praised for showing vulnerability during his time on Dancing With The Stars NZ, but he took it to the next level during the grand final.

Vatuvei channeled his emotions for a thrilling performance of Kiwi Lorde's grim rendition of 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World'.

He was clad in a somber glittery black outfit while dramatic red lights flashed across the stage.

Even a slight blip at the end of the performance wasn't enough to lose the fans, despite slipping in the final turn and losing his grip on partner Loryn.

Host Dai Henwood told the crowd Vatuvei helped choreograph their final dramatic routine.

"I wanted to showcase my struggles through league then finding something that makes me happy... dancing's done that for me," Vatuvei said.

Even the judges were in disbelief after learning the extent of Vatuvei's efforts.

"Are you joking me mate?" Julz asked, after learning Vatuvei choreographed the whole routine.

He was awarded a perfect 30 for the impressive showdance, his first of the season.
