The convicted child sex offender claimed that Dipset rapper Jim Jones was in the East Coast gang Nine Trey, and Cardi B a member of the Bloods.
"You joined the Bloods specifically to advance your music career?" he was asked by a defence attorney.
"Yes," Tekashi replied.
"You knew Cardi B was a Blood?" he was asked.
"Correct," Tekashi said.
"You knew Cardi B had made music videos with Bloods members in the background?" the attorney asked.
"Correct," he replied
He also replied "yes" when asked if Jones was a member of Nine Trey, a sect of the Bloods gang.
Cardi B responded in a now-deleted tweet, claiming that she is with the Brims, another Blood sect.
"Brim not 9 Trey. I never been 9 Trey or associated with them," she wrote.
She also shared a now-viral clip of rapper Keke Palmer being asked who former US Vice President Dick Cheney is and not knowing - referring to her not knowing who Tekashi is.
Cardi B has previously discussed her affiliation with the Bloods in an interview with GQ last year.
"I used to pop off with my homies," Cardi said. "And they'd say, 'Yo, you really get it poppin'. You should come home. You should turn Blood.' And I did. Yes, I did."
