Justin Bieber has broken down in tears on camera while discussing his desire to "protect" Billie Eilish in a candid interview with Kiwi broadcaster Zane Lowe.
The 'Baby' singer sat down for a 45-minute-long chat with Lowe, whose Apple Music interviews with stars like Kanye West and Taylor Swift have been famously revealing.
As well as discussing drug use, illness, his marriage and his previous relationship with Selena Gomez, Bieber touched on the sense of duty he felt to look out for Eilish, who grew up as a super fan of his.
"[I'm going to] let her do her thing and if she ever needs me, I'm gonna be here for her," Bieber said.
"But yeah, just protecting the moment because people take for granted encounters," he continued, before breaking down in tears.
"Yeah, so, yeah, I just want to protect her.
"I don't want her to lose it. I don't want her to go through anything I went through. I don't wish that upon anybody."
The 25-year-old said that if the 'Bad Guy' singer ever needed him, he was "just a call away".
Eilish was clearly touched by the moment, sharing it on her Instagram page with the caption: "Stream [Bieber's new album] Changes" alongside images of her teenage bedroom plastered with posters of the pop star.
