Madonna is being critisised for publishing a video in which she praises the "great" and "wonderful" aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
While nude in a fancy bath that has luxurious rose petals floating in it, the 'Material Girl' speaks directly to whoever is holding the camera for part of her bizarre Instagram video.
As dramatic piano music plays, she shares her wisdom.
"That's the thing about COVID-19. It doesn't care about how rich you are, how famous you are, how funny you are, how smart you are, where you live, how old you are, what amazing stories you can tell," says Madonna.
"It's the great equalizer and what's terrible about it is what's great about it. What's terrible about it is that it's made us all equal in many ways and what's wonderful about it is that it's made us all equal in many ways.
"Like I used to say at the end of 'Human Nature' every night, we are all in the same boat. And if the ship goes down, we're all going down together."
Many comments under Madonna's Instagram post are far from kind.
"You are a senseless and insensitive human being. Cannot believe how in a blink of an eye you lost my respect to you," one said.
Another added: "You live in other reality Madge. Stop it. With petals on your rich bath, oh my god. COVID-19 makes distinction cause you can afford your own respiratory machine. Stop trivialising this awful situation please."
Another person pointed out: "But when you are rich you can afford your own respiratory machine."
One of the more aggressive commenters stated: "You're a loathsome imbecile with a plastic face, and you make terrible music. F**k off."
At the time of publishing, the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic has killed just over 16,500 people worldwide.
