Travis Scott fans who were disappointed that Coachella has been postponed may be pleased to discover they can still experience a performance by the artist in the coming days - sort of.
The rapper and on-again-off-again partner of reality TV star Kylie Jenner, with whom he shares a 2-year-old daughter, is debuting new track 'Astronomical' inside popular battle royale game Fortnite.
The song and accompanying video are described as "an other-worldly experience built from the ground up in Fortnite".
Fans wanting to check out 'Astronomical' are invited to attend "tour dates", which are as follows in New Zealand standard time (NZST):
- Friday, April 24 at 11am
- Saturday, April 25 at 2am
- Saturday, April 25 at 4pm
- Sunday, April 26 at 3am
- Sunday, April 26 at 10am
"Jump in to whichever time fits your schedule best, or catch an encore with your friends if they missed it," says Epic Games, the company that runs Fortnite.
"Doors open 30 minutes before the show. Get in early to secure your spot!"
Scott's likeness is also being sold in Fortnite to customers who want to buy his "outfits, emotes and more" as part of the game's Icon Series.
The 'Goosebumps' hitmaker was set to headline the 2020 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival alongside Rage Against the Machine and Frank Ocean this month, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was postponed to October.
