Daniel Radcliffe brought tears to the eyes of Harry Potter fans when kicked off a series of celebrity-lead storytimes reading the first chapter of The Philosopher's Stone.
Radcliffe, whose role as Harry Potter shot him to international stardom, is one of many celebrities reading the iconic children's book online from their respective living rooms and offices.
David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Dakota Fanning and many more famous faces will take part in the initiative, part of the Harry Potter at Home website launched by author JK Rowling to help combat boredom during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Radcliffe's surprise guest appearance prompted an emotional response from some fans, who took to social media to express their feelings.
"I teared up immediately," one Twitter user wrote.
"MY HEART STOPPED," said another.
An audio-only version of Radcliffe's reading is also streaming via Spotify for parents and children to listen to together.
Kids are encouraged to take part in the Chapter Challenge quiz after listening, where they can earn 'house points'.
