Parris Goebel is calling for people to join a Black Lives Matter march in Auckland to show solidarity with protestors in the US.
Riots and demonstrations have broken out in several US cities following the alleged murder of African-American man George Floyd on Monday.
Footage showed white police officer Derek Chauvin pinning Floyd to the ground with a knee on his neck for seven minutes while he pleaded for air.
Now internationally renowned choreographer and dancer Parris Goebel is asking for Kiwis to take action.
"NZ STAND UP. If you are as frustrated and heartbroken as I am, meet me at Aotea Square tomorrow!" she posted to Instagram.
"It is easy to sit back and watch all of this on your phone from the other side of the world, but will you get up and march with us?"
The protest will start at 3:30pm on Monday, and will travel to the US Consulate General on Customs Street East.
The protest is also backed by mixed martial artist Israel Adesanya and Kiwi rapper Poetik.
