A fourth game in the main Crash Bandicoot series is on the way more than 20 years after the last.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will be released in October as a direct sequel to 1998's Crash Bandicoot: Warped.
The game's official synopsis is as follows: "Picking up where the original trilogy left off, Neo Cortex and Dr Nefarious Tropy have escaped their interdimensional prison and in doing so have fractured the boundaries of time and space. It's up to Crash and Coco to save the day."
Over the years since the original games were developed by Naughty Dog, various Crash Bandicoot spin-offs have been released by a range of developers including kart race games, a hack-and-slash game and an RPG - but fans have long-awaited a true sequel to Warped.
It's About Time is being developed for Activision by the company's own studio Toys for Bob, which previously worked on Skylanders titles and the Spyro Reignited trilogy remake.
Naughty Dog has gone on to produce the highly acclaimed Uncharted and The Last of Us games.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is set to release on October 2 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
