Were the contestants on Big Brother chosen because of their bizarre phobias?
It sure looks like it.
On Sunday's episode, Big Brother decided to build them a Ginger Dread House - forcing the housemates to face some of their biggest fears for our viewing pleasure.
But we can't help but ask ourselves if they were actually scared of these things, some of which were truly unexpected.
Sarah's Fear: Knees (Genuphobia)
Sarah: "Big Brother wouldn't put me in a room full of knees..."
BB: "Cue the knees!"
Yeah, he did just that. Big Brother locked Sarah in a room full of knees, making her moisturise them one by one.
Danni's Fear: Bubbles (Ebulliophobia)
Danni was shaking and in tears as she entered a room full of bubbles, before Big Brother made her scoop some up to make a bubble beard.
Angela's Fear: Dogs (Cynophobia)
Angela's fear seemed pretty bizarre at first, considering the fearsome pooch she was up against was a fluffy white poodle named Jackon. But when you consider that Angela grew up in Africa where dogs aren't kept as pets, it starts makes sense.
Garth's Fear: Scaling Fish (Ichthyophobia)
Big Brother made Garth scale a huge dead fish, an activity that many people would dislike whether or not they had a legitimate phobia. Good on ya Garth!
Casey's Fear: Grating Cheese (Turophobia)
Who couldn't love cheese?! But grating it was a different story for Casey. Nobody was quite sure if it was the grater or the cheese that caused the terror, but in the end Casey managed to conquer her fear.
Daniel's Fear: Pigeons (Peristerphobia)
Big Brother put this giant ex-AFL player in a room full of pigeons. He was petrified and accused the birds of 'ganging up' on him and while Big Brother made him gulp down a plate of ice cream.
Big Brother Australia airs Sundays at 7pm and Monday - Tuesday at 7.30pm on Three.
