Demi Lovato's former fiancé Max Ehrich is claiming he found out the couple's engagement was over by reading tabloid stories online.
In a series of emotional Instagram posts, Ehrich said he was on the set of his new movie Southern Gospel when he opened his phone and read the news.
"This is the God's honest truth of how I found out about the ending of the engagement and have people from my film who saw the whole thing go down and helped me get back into character to continue my job," he wrote.
In another slide with the caption "leave me alone", Ehrich shared a screenshot of a text message that read: "To find out over the internet was beyond anything I could've ever imagined a person could do to another human."
The Young and the Restless star also mentioned his four nominations from the Emmy academy and the "great morals" of his new film. "I'm not interested in any attention, I'm interested in doing my art," he wrote.
Lovato has not publicly addressed the split, but a source close to the 'Cool For The Summer' singer reportedly told People magazine: "Demi made Max aware that the relationship was over and it was going to come out in the press."
The pop star's recent Instagram uploads show her hanging out with friends and watching the UFC Fight Island showdown, in which Kiwi Israel Adesanya won the main event.
Meanwhile, Ehrich shared a video of him being baptised, which he called a "profoundly beautiful experience". He also shared a screenshot showing he was listening to John Mayer's song 'Dreaming with a Broken Heart'.
Lovato and Ehrich met around six months ago and got engaged in July. In an Instagram post celebrating the news at the time, Lovato said she knew she loved Ehrich "the moment she met him".
