The end of the year is a great time to look back at the very best films we enjoyed during it - along with the terrible ones we hated the most.
Of course, some people love watching awful movies and if you enjoy cinematic stinkers, take note of the titles below and look out for them.
Kiwi actor KJ Apa stars in one of the most critically panned films of 2020 - Songbird, which is based on the COVID-19 pandemic.
"For all of its gimmicky appeal, Songbird is bad enough that your entire neighbourhood will be able to smell it streaming onto your TV, and it gets worse faster than your nose can adjust to the stench," writes David Ehrlich in his review for Indiewire.
The list of this year's worst movies also features a Shia Labeouf crime drama entitled The Tax Collector, Robert Downey Jr's fantasy adventure flop Dolittle, a Crocodile Dundee sequel and Bruce Willis action thriller Survive the Night.
But the number one most abysmal movie of the year according to critics is Reality Queen, which stars former Bond girl Denise Richards and convicted rapist Mike Tyson.
Released in January, it has an average rating or 'Metascore' of just 7 out of 100.
Critic Michael Rechtshaffen described it in the Los Angeles Times as "a punishingly shrill, unfunny mockumentary about a social media darling" that is a "crassly-executed, one-gag production".
One of the only films on the list released in cinemas in Aotearoa is the third worst of the year, romantic drama After We Collided, which has a Metascore of 14 out of 100.
In her review for Variety, Jessica Kiang labels the film a "numbingly repetitive series of manufactured minor dramas between the two terminally self-involved, staggeringly uninteresting protagonists".
"All it really does is remind us that post Twilight and Fifty Shades, this... is merely the latest - and definitely the worst - of all the terrible franchise movies revolving around the truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a dark secret and/or leather jacket must be in want of a prim, virginal nonentity to save him from himself. Bleurgh."
