A TV host on Australia's Channel 7 has been arrested after reports a woman was assaulted at an address in Sydney.
According to local media, The Chase Australia host Andrew O'Keefe will appear in court this week after the alleged assault, which happened early Sunday at an apartment in the suburb of Randwick.
"O'Keefe is a former chairman of the White Ribbon charity, which campaigns to stop violence against women," Channel 7 said.
"He's been charged with common assault."
New South Wales police confirmed to The Sydney Morning Herald a 49-year-old was arrested following the incident.
"He was taken to Maroubra police station where he was charged with common assault and granted conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Thursday, February 4, 2021."
