Golden Globes 2021: Full list of winners

The 78th annual Golden Globes have been awarded, with big wins going to Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, NomadlandThe Crown, The Queen's Gambit and Schitt's Creek.

Chloe Zhao made history as the filmmaker behind Nomadland, which won her Best Drama Film and Best Director. She's now just the second woman ever to win the director category (after Barbra Streisand, who won for Yentl in 1984), as well as the second of Asian descent (after Ang Lee).

Netflix's hit royal show The Crown won Best Drama Series and both top acting awards, for Emma Corrin and Josh O'Connor, who played Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales.

Schitt's Creek was named Best Comedy Series and Catherine O'Hara won Best Actress for her role in it, but her co-star Eugene Levy lost out to Jason Sudeikis who won for his role in Ted Lasso.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Globes were hosted remotely by Tina Fey at the Rockefeller Center in New York and Amy Poehler at the Beverly Hilton in LA, with most of the nominees joining via live video broadcasts.

This year's event took place as increased scrutiny was poured on the organisation behind it, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

Multiple thorough investigations about the institute, which has less than 100 voting members, have added to long-held beliefs that it's unqualified and corrupt.

This Is Us star Sterling K Brown called out the HFPA for not having a single Black member, with several other celebrities using the hashtag #TimesUpGlobes to demand change.

"Having a multitude of Black presenters does not absolve you of your lack of diversity," said Brown in an Instagram post.

"This is your moment to do the right thing. It is my hope that you will."

The HFPA replied with a statement that it understands "we need to bring in Black members, as well as members from other underrepresented backgrounds" and that it will "immediately work to implement an action plan to achieve these goals as soon as possible".

Fey and Poehler called on the HFPA to do better in the broadcast, suggesting that its membership refuses to include Black people despite including cats, a sausage and a ghost or two.
