Comedian Rhys Darby is the first celebrity to join the guessing panel on the upcoming series of The Masked Singer NZ.
The global singing competition is soon to hit Kiwi screens and will see Darby and three more as yet unnamed celebrities try to guess the well-known New Zealanders singing off against one another while disguised in elaborate costumes.
The Flight of the Conchords star will be one of the famous faces attempting to identify the voices behind the masks, as contestants are eliminated and revealed each week until there is just one winner.
"I try not to judge people, but monsters and characters I'm very picky with," Darby said in a statement.
"Particularly the singing ones."
The show will be hosted by The Edge's Clinton Randell with a myriad of sports stars, television presenters, singers and more promised to be taking to the stage dressed up as characters such as a tuatara, a monster, a monarch butterfly and a possum.
The Masked Singer NZ will premiere on Three and online on ThreeNow soon.
