Guy Williams didn't hold back during his Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) while promoting season two of his show New Zealand Today - condemning Havelock North and Oamaru as some of the worst towns in Aotearoa.
The comedian and television presenter also said he "felt really bad" about upsetting sports star Sonny Bill Williams, and revealed how much behind-the-scenes advice he gives to his Green Party MP girlfriend Golriz Ghahraman.
Williams fielded questions from fans who grilled him on everything from his worst gig ever to "living in Jono and Ben's shadow", but the funnyman appeared happy to oblige, even when he thought some commenters were "probably trying to troll".
Asked what the weirdest small town in New Zealand was, Williams replied: "Oamaru is f**ked."
"Worst place I've ever done a gig... Can't pronounce their own name... steampunk isn't a thing... they have a penguin zoo for $35 but all the penguins are just walking around outside for free... wake up."
That wasn't the only part of the country Williams took issue with, however. When asked which New Zealand town he would remove forever if he could, the comedian didn't hesitate to call out Havelock North.
"F**k Havelock North! The rich wine place? Embrace Hastings, Hastings is happening. Havelock North can GTFO (Get The F**k Out)."
Meanwhile, Williams said there were plenty of Kiwi towns he loved, particularly those that got a bad reputation from many other New Zealanders.
"Huntly, Hamilton, Rotorua, Greymouth, Invercargil - all great places IMO (In My Opinion)."
Williams said that no, he didn't give suggestions about political policies to his partner Golriz Gharahman, but admitted he did used to give "a lot of annoying advice about messaging".
"I always thought the Greens and the Left were miles behind John Key, the way he used to work social media and the media... but then Chloe and Jacinda came along and now the Left is awesome at it," he added.
The former Jono and Ben star also addressed his fraught relationship with Sonny Bill Williams, who he, by his own admission "cyber bullied" on Twitter in 2015, leading to him being blocked by the boxer.
"I feel really bad about it!" the comedian said.
"I actually love Sonny, what he's done for the Muslim community in NZ has been amazing... but I crossed the line and he doesn't like me much unfortunately and I wish I could genuinely apologize to him and let him know that I admire him."
After what Williams described as "two and a half hours of talking about himself", he claimed he had "lost his mind" but thanked everyone who had signed on to ask him a question.
