Piers Morgan dubs Prince Harry a 'self-pitying twerp' for calling the First Amendment 'bonkers'

Piers Morgan has laid into Prince Harry once again after the Duke of Sussex called the First Amendment to the United States Constitution "bonkers".

Morgan called Harry a "spineless self-pitying twerp" who was "attacking free speech" with comments he made on Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast last week.

"It is bonkers," Harry said about the First Amendment, which protects the freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, the right to assemble, and the right to petition the government.

"I don't want to start going down the First Amendment route because that's a huge subject and one which I don't understand because I've only been here a short time, but you can find a loophole in anything. You can capitalise or exploit what's not said rather than uphold what is said," Harry told Shepard.

In one of his trademark furious rants for the Daily Mail, Morgan called Harry's remarks "absurd Meghan-inspired psychobabble", claiming: "None of this makes any sense, and he clearly doesn't understand what he's saying either."

"Though we can safely assume that he just hates anything which affords any protection to journalists to say things he doesn't like, because that has been a familiar theme from the indignant media-loathing Prince for the last few years," Morgan continued.

The former Good Morning Britain host said Harry's mindset was the same that made Meghan Markle "think she can complain to bosses of TV networks when presenters like me refuse to believe her lies".

Morgan left his role on the ITV show after prompting tens of thousands of complaints with his insistence Meghan was lying during her conversation with Oprah Winfrey - in which she revealed she had been suicidal and alleged there had been racism and bullying within the Royal Family.

Morgan went on to insist that Harry had an "extraordinary amount of entitled arrogance" to mock the "building blocks" of the US, his adopted country.

"Barely a day goes by without the pair of these selfless charitable souls telling us how deeply compassionate they are," Morgan said of Harry and Meghan.

"But they're not, are they? In fact, it's hard to imagine a less compassionate pair of ruthless, heartless, selfish, shameless little grifters than the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."

The broadcaster said Harry's "new orgy of unsavoury self-indulgent podcast tripe" was "even worse" than the couple's bombshell interview with Oprah.

Morgan also took issue with Harry's comments about the "cycle of genetic pain"  in his family, calling the Duke of Sussex "disgusting" for "condemning his grandparents" just weeks after Prince Philip's death.

He also accused Harry of "compound the mourning Queen's misery by making her feel even worse", adding: "How terribly hurt she must have felt when she heard what her grandson had said about her."

Morgan repeated many of his usual attacks on Meghan and Harry, referencing Meghan's "disowning" of her "entire family" and accusing Harry of "exploiting his royal status" for big pay days with companies like Netflix and Spotify

"The only remaining question, as the front page of the Daily Mail asked last week is 'How low will Harry go?'", Morgan wrote.

"I fear the answer is a lot lower," he concluded.
