Elliot Page has shared his "joy" over donning his first pair of swim trunks in a poolside photo that showed off his muscular physique.
The Juno star came out as a transgender man late last year, and in a March interview with Time Magazine revealed he had undergone top surgery to remove his breasts - a procedure he called "not only life-changing but life-saving".
Page captioned the shirtless snap: "Trans bb's first swim trunks," along with the hashtags #transjoy and #transisbeautiful.
The photo had been liked nearly 1.7 million times within four hours of Page sharing it, and prompted a wave of encouraging comments from fans and fellow celebrities.
Miley Cyrus wrote simply "hot," along with a heart emoji, while Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev told Page: "'You look amazing... and most of all happy."
In a recent sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey, Page became emotional when discussing the impact his surgery had on his life.
"Getting out of the shower and the towel's around your waist and you're looking at yourself in the mirror and you're just like, "There I am,"' he said, holding back tears.
"And I'm not having the moment where I'm panicked. I'm not having all these little moments that used to be - just being in a T-shirt. It's being able to touch my chest."
