Taika Waititi has shrugged off the media frenzy he and rumored girlfriend Rita Ora caused with a series of steamy paparazzi photos that went viral.
The Thor: Love and Thunder director said the snaps were "no big deal," seemingly referring to photos that showed the couple packing on the PDA at his Sydney home, as well as getting cosy with Thor actress Tessa Thomspon.
Asked if he was upset by the attention, Waititi told the Sydney Morning Herald: "Not really".
"I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick. And also, is it that big a deal? No, not really.
"I was doing nothing wrong," the Kiwi filmmaker added. "It's fine."
While Waititi didn't officially confirm his romance with Rita Ora, he did gush over the reception he got from "people who made him feel at home" in Sydney, where he's been filming the upcoming Thor sequel.
"I just got very welcomed and everyone was really beautiful," he said.
"At a time when I couldn't see my kids for almost seven months because there was no bubble, it was really nice to be surrounded by people who made me feel at home."
British pop star Ora has been based in Sydney while filming The Voice Australia, and has reportedly been dating Waititi for several months.
The pair have been spotted kissing in public and vacationing with their celebrity friends, including Thor stars Chris Hemsworth and Matt Damon.
