Ryan Bridge has been confirmed as the new host of The AM Show on Three.
Bridge has been hosting the show following the recent announcement of Duncan Garner's resignation.
Long-time stand-in presenter for the show, Bridge is a former Newshub reporter and RadioLIVE political reporter. He has most recently been the host of Magic Talk's drive show and has also filled in as a guest presenter on Newshub Nation.
Bridge said he was really excited to be taking up the role, working alongside Amanda Gillies and Mark Richardson.
"There's nothing quite like morning television - it's live, largely unscripted and allows you to connect with everyday Kiwis as they get ready to take on the day," he said.
"It's a huge privilege to be joining Discovery and I look forward to working with the entire team to deliver compelling television, while tackling the issues that matter. And of course, having a whole lot of fun while we're at it."
Newshub's Director of News, Sarah Bristow, said Bridge was an excellent addition to the show.
Ryan is a truly exciting broadcaster who is perfectly suited to a dynamic morning show," she said.
"He flawlessly pivots from conducting hard-hitting interviews to sharing engaging and entertaining anecdotes, driven by his innate curiosity and genuine desire to connect with his audiences. Television is his passion and I am excited to welcome him back to Newshub and Three."
The AM Show broadcasts weekdays on Three and streams live on ThreeNow and Newshub.co.nz from 6am to 9am.
