The Edge Afternoons host Sharyn Casey has shared an update about her health after extending her time off-air from the radio station.
Casey shared a photo from a hospital room which showed her slippered feet resting on the bed, explaining she'll be taking another week off work as a precaution during her pregnancy.
"I preface this with baby and I are fine, I am not panicking, but because I'll be taking another week off work next week and the amount of messages I'm getting people worrying something bad has happened, saying 'I'm on leave' doesn't really cut it," she captioned the snap.
"Without going into a full rundown of my medical history, I am currently on bed rest and had a couple of hospital visits, but again, this is a precaution because I am terrible at sitting still."
The broadcaster said she wanted to make it "very clear" that the situation had "nothing to do" with her getting immunised against COVID-19 while pregnant - something she discussed on social media in recent weeks.
"I'm relieved I have it especially with cases rising," she wrote.
The 35-year-old mum thanked her "incredible whānau" at The Edge and MediaWorks, including her colleagues who shuffled their roles to fill in for her.
Casey also gave a special shout out to her family and friends, and her husband Bryce Casey for being her "legend of a team mate" and a "total rockstar".
"That's it from me, reiterating, nothing to panic about, just wanted to update and put some minds at ease," she concluded. "Hopefully I'll be back in your glorious ear holes soon."
