Alec Baldwin's daughter Ireland has been lambasted for donning a bloody Halloween costume shortly after the fatal accidental on-set shooting involving her Hollywood actor father.
The 26-year-old and her boyfriend posed as victims covered in fake blood in photos shared on Instagram, with Ireland smiling while a trickle of blood ran from her eye and nose.
In the caption, Ireland explained that she and her boyfriend had "stayed in for Halloween this year" due to an influx of reporters and paparazzi hanging around near her home and "invading all her privacy" following the Rust movie set tragedy.
Last month, Ireland's father accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza when what was supposed to be a prop gun discharged with a live round during rehearsals for the western flick.
It wasn't long before Ireland's post drew outrage online, with some commentators dubbing the costumes "thoughtless", "tone-deaf" and "inappropriate".
"It's like I'm living in a f**king simulation where everyone is doing the most inappropriate thing possible," one social media user wrote.
"There are literally a billion other possible Halloween costumes. There is also an option not to post this shit online. How tone-deaf can you be?!" said another.
"Just why? Where is the compassion? A woman is dead! Your DAD CAUSED IT. Whether or not he was at fault is up for debate, but show SOME reverence!" a third wrote.
Meanwhile, Alec and his wife Hilaria Baldwin also came under attack for celebrating Halloween with their six kids in a post on social media.
"It doesn't appear you or anyone in your family have any regard for the tragedy. No respect. Stay off social media, it's simple. Out of respect for the life lost," another comment aimed at Ireland read.
"Go underground and let her family grieve with dignity. Why you or your wicked narcissistic stepmother think it's appropriate to post anything, anything at all, not to mention, the bloody costume is mind-boggling."
Earlier this week, former Fox News host Rick Leventhal defended his right to dress up as Alec Baldwin's character from Rust, which he said was intentionally designed to "offend" the anti-NRA actor who has publicly spoken about his "heartbreak" over the incident.
"He's a jerk and deserves all the heat he's getting," Leventhal told Page Six about his Instagram post, which showed him and his wife - who was dressed as a Native American - brandishing pistols.
