Kylie Jenner has released a statement in the wake of the tragedy at her boyfriend Travis Scott's Astroworld festival which left at least eight dead and many more injured.
The reality star was watching Scott perform at the event in Houston, Texas when a surge in the 50,000 strong crowd caused some people to fall unconscious, while others reportedly suffered cardiac arrests or other medical issues.
"Travis and I are broken and devastated," Jenner wrote on her Instagram story of the disaster that was declared a "mass casualty event" by officials.
"My thoughts and prayers are with all who lost their lives, were injured or affected in any way by yesterday's events," she continued.
"And also for Travis who I know cares deeply for his fans and the Houston community."
The makeup mogul prompted backlash after sharing videos of the concert which were hastily deleted, with Jenner insisting that neither she nor the 'Sicko Mode' hitmaker understood the devastation that was occurring at the time.
"I want to make it clear we weren't aware of any fatalities until the news came out after the show and in no world would have continued filming or performing," she wrote.
"I am sending my deepest condolences to all the families during this difficult time and will be praying for the healing of everyone who has been impacted."
According to Reuters, Scott stopped the show several times throughout his 75 minute performance and called for help from security when spotting fans in distress, as shown in videos shared online.
In his own statement, a "devastated" Scott said he "could never imagine this situation" and was actively working with authorities to "get to the bottom" of it.
