The actor known for his role as Kevin McAllister's brother 'Buzz' in the Christmas classic, Home Alone, has been arrested on two domestic assault and battery charges.
Devin Ratray turned himself in on Wednesday (local time) in Oklahoma City after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend on December 8, according to local outlet KFOR.
The charges include domestic assault and battery by strangulation, as well as misdemeanour domestic assault and battery. An affidavit claims Ratray choked his girlfriend, saying, "This is how you die", KFOR reports.
In a statement, Ratray's attorney, Scott Adams, said the actor denies the allegations.
"Mr Ratray denies he ever laid a hand on her or did anything in regards to anything like that," Adams told KFOR.
According to documents obtained by the outlet, the woman told police she and Ratray got into a heated argument at a bar that continued to their hotel room, where he allegedly choked her, punched her and pushed her. According to the affidavit, she suffered multiple injuries in the altercation.
The 44-year-old actor was released from jail a short time later.
Earlier in December, Ratray partnered with holiday rental company, Airbnb, to offer people the chance to spend a night in the iconic Home Alone house for a viewing of Home Sweet Home Alone, the latest addition to the franchise, while enjoying Chicago deep-dish pizza and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese.
Ratray starred as Buzz, the brother of Home Alone's primary character, Kevin McAllister, in the 1990 Christmas-themed comedy. He reprised his role in 1992's Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and the newest film in the franchise, Home Sweet Home Alone.
He also appeared in Dennis the Menace, Blue Ruin, Nebraska and 2019's Hustlers.
