Newshub reporter Amanda Gillies is engaged to Newsroom co-editor Tim Murphy.
The former AM Show host announced the big news in an Instagram post on Christmas Eve.
"Merry Christmas! And some lovely news to end a crazy year," she wrote, alongside a picture of the pair smiling at a beach in her native Gisborne.
The engagement brings to an end an eventful 2021 for Gillies, who earlier this month did her last news anchor shift on The AM Show ahead of the launch of Newshub's morning show reboot AM, which starts early next year.
Gillies and her co-presenter Mark Richardson both announced they would not be staying on and would instead be moving to other opportunities within Newshub and Three.
Gillies, a seasoned award-winning journalist with over 20 years of experience, has been appointed to a Newshub National Correspondent role, covering and breaking stories of national significance.
In announcing her departure, Gillies said the last five years had been a privilege.
"It's the best job in the world but with the worst hours," she said.
"I have never taken the studio seat for granted, and I have been lucky enough to work with the dream team, on and off screen. There have been plenty of laughs, tears and unforgettable moments."
