The Edge radio host Nickson Clark claims he once made out with Katy Perry and spent the weekend with her when she was emerging on the scene as an international pop artist.
The former Mai FM host, who has recently jumped ship to The Edge, told his co-hosts he was once invited to travel to Melbourne to watch "this new developing artist".
"At the point when I pashed her, she wasn't popping [yet]. The person is Katy Perry."
Clark's revelation prompted cries of disbelief and amazement from his co-hosts and producers.
"She just randomly was like 'Hey, do you know your way around here?' I was like 'Nah, I'm not from here either'," Clark said of their first interaction.
"She was like 'Man, I really feel like a strawberry milkshake', and I was like 'same' - I'm lactose intolerant.
"She asked 'What are you doing later today? I'm doing an interview on Rove, but do you want to hang out afterwards?'," he continued.
Clark said the pair then went back to where Perry was staying and "did a cheeky little kiss".
"We exchanged phone numbers and spent like, the whole weekend together.
"We stayed in contact for maybe a month after and then it just fizzled out. Now she's living her best life with [her husband] Orlando Bloom."
Clark's co-host Steph Monks and Eli Matthewson joked that one of Perry's hits, 'The One That Got Away', could have been inspired by her fling with the Kiwi broadcaster.
Perry, whose former flames include John Mayer, Travie McCoy and Russell Brand, has not commented publicly on the alleged rendezvous.
