Machine Gun Kelly has revealed further details about the double-stone engagement ring he had designed for Megan Fox, claiming it features thorns that will "hurt" her if she tries to remove it.
The pair spoke to Vogue following their high-profile engagement - despite Fox's insistence she "didn't know" the proposal had become a viral story worldwide.
Responding to Vogue writer Luke Leitch's assertion it had become a "huge mega-story", Fox asked her fiance, real name Colson Baker: "Are you aware of it? I don't really look at social media or anything, so I don't know."
"But it came out on social media, right?" Leitch asked.
"Yeah," replied Fox, before Baker jumped in to explain.
"We released it to control the narrative. As opposed to someone just catching a weird cell phone picture of a ring on our hand and being like, whoa!
"But yeah, I didn't expect it. I just recorded it on my cell phone. And it wasn't like we had photographers or anything. It was just like me setting my phone against a cup."
The 'My Bloody Valentine' hitmaker went on to explain that Fox's custom ring featured "a thoroughbred Colombian emerald" that was carved into a teardrop shape "straight out of the mine".
The diamond came directly from British jewellery designer Stephen Webster.
"The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. When it's together, it's held in place by a magnet. So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart," Baker said.
"The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts," he said, before adding: "Love is pain!"
The unusual aspect of the ring is in keeping with the couple's distinctly gothic brand of romance, with Fox joking that the pair "drank each other's blood" shortly after the proposal.
