The first look at Daniel Radcliffe in his role as comedy musician Weird Al Yankovic has prompted mixed reaction online.
A still of the Harry Potter star donning the parody singer's trademark accordion, curly hair and Hawaiian shirt has been released from the upcoming biopic Weird: The 'Weird Al' Yankovic Story.
Media reports described Radcliffe as "unrecognisable" in his new role, however not everyone agrees.
"That just looks like Harry Potter in a wig," one Twitter user responded to the image.
"Bro, why is Wolverine in a Hawaiian shirt?" another asked.
A third commenter said that Radcliffe's casting as Yankovic "doesn't make any sense".
One person wrote simply: "No. No. No. No."
Meanwhile, many fans celebrated the first glimpse of the portrayal while acknowledging it was a unique character for Radcliffe to play.
"WHO as WHO??? Very unexpected casting, but I'm hyped," one tweet read.
"Words can't describe how f**king excited I am for this," said another.
In a tweet releasing the image, Yankovic himself joked that Radcliffe was a "cosplayer weirdo" who "tried to crash our set".
"I love my fans, but... boundaries, people! Don't worry, we had security throw him out," he wrote.
Radcliffe also shared a statement saying that wearing the Hawaiian shirt was a "huge responsibility" that he "didn't take lightly".
"I'm honoured to finally share with the world the absolutely 100 percent unassailably true story of Weird Al's depraved and scandalous life," he added, in a seemingly tongue in cheek reference to the distinct lack of controversy around Yankovic's life and career.
