Controversial British broadcaster Piers Morgan has hit out at Prince Andrew, calling him a 'snivelling coward' after the royal settled a sexual abuse lawsuit out of court.
The Prince has consistently denied the allegations by Virginia Giuffre accusing him of sexually abusing her when she was a teenager, even insisting he has never met her.
Three weeks ago the Duke of York demanded a trial by jury to clear his name. However, on Wednesday it was revealed he has settled the case, which included an undisclosed payment to Giuffre and her charity that supports victims' rights.
"It was all lies," Morgan wrote in The Sun.
"We do know that by paying a massive cheque to avoid a showdown in court, he’s confirmed himself to be a snivelling little coward whose denials and demands weren’t worth the paper they were written on.
"And we also know that by doing so, he has destroyed what’s left of his shattered reputation."
Andrews had expressly denied any wrongdoings, implying that the infamous photo of Andrew and Guiffre was fake and suggesting Guiffre was suffering 'false memories'.
This caused mixed reactions online, with Guiffre's character repeatedly supported, questioned and slammed in the media.
In a statement to the court, Andrew says he never intended to malign Guiffre character.
"She has suffered both as an established victim of abuse and as a result of unfair public attacks," the statement said.
"Prince Andrew regrets his association with Epstein, and commends the bravery of Ms Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others," the statement added.
Morgan wrote on the outlet the last person any victim of sexual assault needs support from is a man who hung out with a convicted child sex trafficker and who paid for his way out in his alleged involvement.
"Forgive me while I puke," Morgan said.
The settlement includes no admission of guilt, so it is likely the truth will never come out.
Morgan claims if the case continued more details about the Prince's sex life and "friendship" with sex offenders would be revealed which could have "inflicted terminal damage on the Monarchy".
Morgan calls for Prince Andrew to be immediately stripped of all remaining titles and privileges that come with being a Prince.
"Andrew's finished," he said.
