AM co-host Ryan Bridge is isolating after testing positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Tom McRae will be filling in for Bridge during his 7-day isolation.
Bridge joined AM virtually on Wednesday, saying so far he feels completely fine.
"To be honest, I feel fine. I don't really feel like I have any symptoms at all. I have had worse hangovers if I am being completely honest with you. But the rules are you have to stay home and isolate so that's what I am doing," he said.
Bridge said his only symptom is a change in his voice but otherwise he feels good and has been bingeing Married at First Sight.
"The only thing I have noticed is my voice sounds like it's half an octave off what it would normally be but apart from that I am absolutely a-okay.
"I thought, with 7 days, because 7 days is a long time to be isolating at home - a long time to be on your own, I thought maybe I would learn something new or do something interesting. But then within about an hour of getting the results, I had ordered a pizza and I was starting to watch Married at First Sight."
Bridge said he plans to go for a walk but otherwise will be cooped up at home for the next week.
"You're allowed to go exercise around the neighbourhood so I should really go for a walk or a run… but other than that it is going to be me and MAFS."
It comes after 21,616 new community COVID-19 cases were revealed on Tuesday. There were also 960 people in hospital, with 22 in the ICU, and two deaths. The deaths were in Southern and Capital & Coast DHBs. Both people, one man and one woman, were aged over 70. The Ministry didn't clarify whether they died from COVID or with it.
The Government also recently relaxed isolation rules for COVID-19 cases and household contacts. Cases and household contacts now only need to isolate for 7 days, down from 10.
Household contacts will still need to have a rapid antigen test (RAT) at day three and day seven of their isolation period. If they become symptomatic they should also get a test, and if the result is positive, they are required to be isolated for seven days from that point.
If a person is isolating and still has symptoms after seven days, they are advised to stay home until 24 hours after symptoms resolve.
Common COVID-19 symptoms include a new or worsening cough, sneezing and runny nose, a fever, temporary loss of smell or altered sense of taste, sore throat and shortness of breath.
Less common symptoms include diarrhoea, headache, muscle pain or body aches, nausea, vomiting, malaise - a general feeling of discomfort, illness or unease, chest pain, abdominal pain, joint pain and confusion or irritability.
