Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins had "10 different substances" including marijuana and opioids in his system when he died, Colombian investigators say.
The 50-year-old was found dead in a hotel room in Bogotá on Friday (local time), where the band was due to play at a festival.
The Colombian Attorney General's office is investigating Hawkins' death and recently finished an initial forensic investigation of his body.
"Preliminary results of the urine toxicology test indicate the presence of 10 different substances: THX (marijuana), tricyclic antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and opioids, among others," they said in a statement posted to Twitter.
Hawkins' cause of death remains unknown and investigators didn't say if the mix of drugs was a factor.
"The National Institute of Forensic Medicine continues to conduct the necessary medical studies to ascertain the cause of death," they added.
"The Attorney General's Office will continue to investigate and will duly inform the findings of forensic examinations in due time."
But Semana, a major Colombian magazine, went further, reporting that unnamed authorities told its reporters that heroin was also part of the drug cocktail in Hawkins' system and that he was found to have an enlarged heart.
Semana says that "forensic doctors were shocked by the size of the drummer's heart: it weighed at least 600 grams", and believe that was a factor in Hawkins quickly succumbing to "the cocktail of narcotics".
Hawkins' death was announced by the Foo Fighters in a statement, in which they said they were "devastated" by his "tragic and untimely loss".
"His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family."
Tributes poured in for this drummer following the announcement of his death.
"Taylor Hawkins was truly a great person and an amazing musician. My heart, my love and my condolences go out to his wife, his children, his family, his band and his fans. See you on the other side," tweeted English rocker Ozzy Osborne.
"In utter disbelief at the news of Taylor Hawkins. Our deepest condolences to his family, his bandmates, his team, his friends and everyone that was ever touched by the music he created with [Foo Fighters, Alanis Morissette] and so many others. This is so incredibly sad," added rock band Nickelback.
