If you're an introvert, you'll be very familiar with the internal battle one experiences every time your presence is requested at a social event.
On one hand, you're hyper-aware that on your deathbed, you won't be fondly remembering the many Saturdays you spent at home with the cat instead of partying and 'making memories'. But on the other, the thought of speaking to people is somewhat repulsive - and you'd rather be watching Catfish reruns and eating carbs.
In an incredibly relatable moment, English actor Sophie Turner has revealed the reason she rejected supermodel Kendall Jenner at last week's Met Gala - turning down a "lowkey afterparty" and instead spending the rest of the night in bed with a plate of pasta. Iconic.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday (local time), Turner - who became a household name for her role as Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones - recounted the hilariously awkward encounter.
According to Turner, Jenner - who rose to prominence on Keeping Up with the Kardashians as a member of the famous family - approached her at the Met Gala and asked if she'd like to come along to an afterparty.
"So, Kendall Jenner... she was at the Met, and I love the Kardashians. I think she's so gorgeous in real life and I was so struck by her beauty. She invited me to this afterparty, this low-key afterparty. And she went, like, 'Do you want to come?'" Turner told Fallon.
"And I just went, 'No. No. No, I don't'."
As the audience cackled, Turner quickly admitted that she regretted her swift spurn to the invite.
"I'm like, 'Why? Why do I do this to myself?' And then I just sat in bed and ate pasta. And I was like, 'I could be somewhere else right now' - but it wasn't bad."
The 26-year-old also revealed that despite being a bonafide celebrity, she's "really bad" around fellow stars.
"Every celebrity I come into contact with, I act up or say something stupid," she admitted.
"Recently it's been - if a celebrity interacts with me - I immediately just shut them down and I'm like, 'I don't want anything to do with you'. And secretly I'm like... 'I love you so much'.
"But I've gone too far the other way before."
She also added: "I can't quite fathom [that] I'm actually invited to these things and I'm not like a competition winner, you know?"
Turner, who currently stars in the American true crime miniseries The Staircase, is married to singer-songwriter and former Disney Channel star Joe Jonas, who rose to fame as a member of the pop-rock band the Jonas Brothers. The couple are currently expecting their second child together.
Speaking to Fallon, Turner also gave viewers a sweet glimpse into her relationship with Jonas, recounting that she knew from the "first night" that they shared a special connection.
"We went out and hung out at a bar with all my friends and all his friends and then they all came back to my apartment and we had drinks after," she recalled.
"And I remember him leaving, and I just, like, wept.
"And I knew," she concluded. "That was it."
