A renowned royal writer reports Meghan Markle loathed her and Prince Harry's tour to Australia and New Zealand in 2018, calling it "pointless".
Prominent royal biographer Tina Brown makes the claims in a new book The Palace Papers, released on Tuesday.
In the book, Brown wrote of how Meghan "hated every second" of her tour down under with Prince Harry - which was the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first major visit outside of the UK.
The 2018 tour saw the couple visit Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand.
"It was head-turning for Meghan to experience the full-throttle motorcade-purring, outrider-vrooming, crowd-roaring adulation of a popular young royal on a tour planned to the last teacup by the Palace machine," Brown wrote.
Brown said Meghan also "felt snubbed that there was no particular display of Palace appreciation" for the tour's success.
Last week, before The Palace Papers' official release, UK media unveiled other claims from the book including that Meghan allegedly enjoyed luxury freebies and thought she was more beneficial to the royal family than they were to her.
Prince Harry and Meghan stepped away from frontline royal duties in 2020, citing their desire to live a more independent life.
They now live in the US and last month visited the UK as a couple for the first time since their departure.
