Australian actress Kate Ritchie, who most Kiwis know best for her long-running role as Sally Fletcher on Home and Away, has been banned from driving after being caught drink driving.
Police say Ritchie, 44, had a blood alcohol reading of 0.06 after she was pulled over for a random breath test in Sydney's east on Monday afternoon.
The actress was handed an infringement notice for the offence of driving with low-range prescribed concentration of alcohol. The Daily Telegraph reported she was fined $600 and banned from driving for three months.
Ritchie played Fletcher from 1998 until 2008 on Home and Away and is now a radio host at Nova FM.
She revealed in 2021 she felt lost after quitting the soap opera, a hit on both sides of the Tasman.
"It was just so frightening. What do I actually do when someone doesn't hand me a schedule on a Friday afternoon and tell me where to be on a Monday?" she told state broadcaster ABC at the time.
Ritchie is due to return to Australian television screens soon as a judge on Australia's Got Talent.
